Work Hard/Play Hard

What we did this spring at WH/PH

Winter didn't stop Work Hard/Play Hard, as Director Sharon Kitlinski tells us in her article in our latest newsletter.

Let's see, there were billiards, cats, pottery, beads, theater, baseball, and basketball.

And now fall and winter are coming and the schedule is full once again.

WorkHard/Play Hard is a recreation program dedicated to supporting artistic, cultural and recreational opportunities for people who have experienced psychiatric illnesses and other disabilities.

Consumers of mental health services, working hard at their jobs or hard at work learning the skills necessary to get and keep a job, need an active social life. Our mental health depends on it. That's why there is Work Hard/Play Hard! Where there is something to do almost every day of the week! Over 300 events every year!

WorkHard/Play Hard is:

  • Truly consumer driven with part-time consumer driver/coaches who provide door-to-door transportation to each and every event.
  • Truly consumer designed with a consumer council who meets monthly to schedule upcoming events.
  • Truly community based with outings at local theaters, cinemas and baseball parks.
