 Our new Holistic Wellness program includes trainings in Mindfulness meditation for stress reduction. Zumba Gold, African Dance, Yoga, Tai Chi and Qi Gong classes are coming soon. Walking Club is an easy way to jump start your physical health program. Members and staff walk outside, weather permitting, and “Mall walk” when it rains or snows.
Learning to fly! Transformation! Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith. That's what we did with our 2008 Transformation Grant.In 2008, supported by a Mental Health Transformation Grant, Artreach launched a very successful Pilot Program in Alternative Wellness. It included Mindfulness meditation, yoga, and Qi Gong. In 2009, two Senior Staff members from The Center for Mindfulness taught us a modified, two weekend intensive version of the 5 day Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction class. In 2010, we hosted a weekend Mindfulness refresher weekend. Attendees included program members, Artreach Board members, and community supporters, including staff from other mental health agencies.
We have witnessed both staff and program members we've known for 10+ years make real, sustainable change in their lives as a result of this program. As our resiliency increases, stress becomes easier to manage, enabling us to engage in life affirming activities with less anxiety.

There is a "state of ease" that each of us can access to help release emotional turbulence and help maintain coherent alignment between our heart, mind and emotions. Learning to access our personal space of "inner-ease" can be done with minimum practice and in just a little time. When operating in an ease-mode, it’s easier to choose less stressful perceptions and attitudes and re-create "flow" in our daily routines.
